Dave Michael
For the better part of the last 20 years, Dave Michael has been immersing himself in music.
The Chicago native got his start while living in Durham, North Carolina, performing with Vocal/Jazz groups, and as a Featured Artist with several Concert/Honor Bands.
His arrival on the Twin Cities scene in 1992 brought challenging new opportunities, through which he began making a name for himself in the music community.
Over the years, Dave has performed with and/or led numerous Small Groups, including his own 13-piece Jazz Orchestra. He has also accompanied many notable musicians such as former Tonight Show Bandleader "Doc" Severinsen, and Trombonist Slide Hampton.
Today, with hundreds of live performances and 4 International tours to his credit, Dave shows no signs of slowing down. A graduate of the prestigious Los Angeles Music Academy, he currently makes his living in music full time, both performing and teaching on a regular basis.
Dave's deep-rooted love and respect for Jazz music, history, and tradition, puts him right at home with the other members of the band.
Dave Michael
What kind of trouble can a monkey and a trucker get into? Dave Michael started out as a good-looking young trucker based in rural Georgia who traveled around the country in his big red & white rig, with a single companion - his pet chimp, Bear. After moving to Los Angeles, he found it impossible to get regular truck drivers to work for him and had to settle for a crew of 7 young, beautiful lady truckers, including a pair of identical twins. Even with the aid of the 7 Lady Truckers, the monkey and Dave continued to get into lots and lots of trouble, which they somehow always managed to sort out within 52 minutes. These days, Dave Michael plays drums for the Southside Aces where he still gets into and out of trouble in under an hour. In his spare time, he's attempting to reduce his drum kit to wallet size, for easier transport.
